This week’s trailer is a 30’ Classic Flatdeck with Singles (FS). Its custom options have been optimized for use in the ‘hot-shot’ industry. This trailer is equipped with a 102” wide deck that sits on a 14 lb. I-beam frame with 3” channel cross-members on 16” centers. The frame is outfitted with a torque tube for added rigidity. This prevents trailer twist during loading and hauling oversized equipment and cargo.
The FS features an HD 25,000 lb. 2 5/16 gooseneck coupler with a premium, all-weather wiring harness. This trailer also has a front-mounted, locking toolbox that can easily hold your tools, chains, and straps.
For the safety of the operator, this trailer is equipped with an under-frame tie down flat on the driver side of the trailer and 4” slide-track ratchets on the passenger side. This option not only provides limitless tie-downs but also keeps the user away from traffic while securing straps. Speaking of safety, there are also an additional 16 side-marker lights around the trailer. This greatly increases trailer visibility in dark conditions.
The running gear has two 8,000 lb. Dexter Oil-Bath Axles that feature electric, hydraulic disc brakes. These axles require much less maintenance than your standard axle. The oil-bath cap makes it simple to quickly check the lubricant level without removing the hub assembly. The FS has a multitude of tail options available. The trailer in this Walkaround has a straight deck with 8’ rear, slide-in ramps.
